ETET is a registered Charitable trust which was formed by a group of landowners dedicated to enhancing kiwi habitat through pest management in East Taranaki. The Trust has enabled kiwi numbers to grow, by reducing the number of stoats, possums, cats and hedgehogs.
Our main focus is “Saving kiwi in Taranaki”; however we do undertake other work in Taranaki.
We currently have a volunteer project supporting the whio (blue duck) programme in Egmont National Park, by having stoat box trap lines outside the Park, plus we are providing an advocacy role to Ngati Tama in their work at Whitecliffs in North Taranaki.
The Trustees are supported by local contractors who mainly live in the areas where the work is happening.
